This approach to the add-a-number plot has been designed such that it can be used in close-up, where a switch would not fly, as well as on the largest stages, letting the full audience call numbers one digit at a time and writing them openly on large boards, too big to manipulate.

Yet, the resulting number is a force that is fully under the performer’s control.
