CAUSE / EFFECT is a completely propless approach to secretly gaining useful information during readings and mentalism. Your participant thinks about the area of their life that matters most to them. A short interaction follows. By the end of it, you know exactly what they chose. They never directly tell you their choice, and more importantly, they have no reason to suspect that they’ve given it away. From here, you have secretly informed direction for whatever happens next. Rather than immediately revealing what you know, allow it to find its way into the reading. Relationships, work, the present, the future, or almost any other pair of possibilities can begin to surface without your participant knowing why. At the heart of CAUSE / EFFECT is a rock-solid, customisable logic trap, inspired by the classic liar/truth teller principle. However, there are no liar or truth teller roles to remember, no long-winded sequences of questions and no confusing instructions for your participant to follow. The entire process is short, easy to understand and, most importantly, makes complete sense within the presentation. Nothing feels like it’s there simply because the method needs it. Inside the 23-page PDF, you’ll learn the full process, thoughts on wording and justification, and applications for readings and palmistry, performed completely propless, along with versions using tarot cards and crystals, where the physical items become part of the experience. Also included is FOOL’S GOLD, a completely impromptu, propless piece in which your participant imagines a gold coin and a silver coin before secretly taking one and holding it in either hand. They never tell you which coin they took. What follows is part reading, part imagined oracle, ending with a small gift that exists only in their imagination. “Keep your gold coin. You’ll need it where you’re going.” CAUSE / EFFECT isn’t necessarily about discovering information so that you can reveal it moments later. Sometimes, it’s far more useful to know something your participant doesn’t realise you know, and allow that information to find its way into the experience. Sometimes, the mystery is stronger for never being announced as one.
